To permanently remove Internet Explorer from the taskbar in Windows 10, edit the file
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\LayoutModification.xml
Remove the following line from the file.
<taskbar:DesktopApp DesktopApplicationLinkPath="%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories\Internet Explorer.lnk" />
The newest version of Chrome features a fancy new bookmark manager and interface that’s all about thumbnails. If you’re not a fan of that snazz, Techdows points to a flag you can switch to get the old interface back.

1. Type chrome://flags into your browser’s address bar.
2. Search for the option labeled “Enable Instant Extended API.”
